The Storyteller
(and Guest Speaker)
As a tenth generation, direct descendant of Acadians, Dr. Benoit was born
in a long tradition of storytelling. One might say he’s a Cajun raconteur
at heart. Combine his need to tell a good story to that of couching it in
high-drama history, results in his love for writing historical fiction and
for living to tell about it.
His books make history come alive. His personality enlivens the art form
of oral storytelling. Such a compilation is irresistible. It becomes
unforgettable when he appears before an audience in period dress and portrays
historical figures.
Dr. Benoit has regaled audiences since 1996. Currently he enacts the Civil
War character of Captain Edward Wynkoop of the First Regiment of Colorado
Volunteers.
Presentations and Book Signings
Since 2007, Dr. Benoit continues to give talks on Genealogy and Colorado History
throughout Colorado and in Louisiana and New England.
